Screen & Track Cleaning
The dirty part of the window. Screens trap pollen and cobwebs; tracks collect dirt, dead bugs, and pollen runoff. Both can be cleaned without doing the glass — though most homeowners book it as part of the full package.
Screens
- Removed and laid out in a controlled spot — never put down on landscaping.
- Dry-vacuumed front and back with a soft brush attachment.
- Lightly rinsed if pollen has caked, then air-dried before reinstall.
- Frames inspected — bent or torn screens are flagged before re-seating; replacements are not included but a recommendation can be given.
Tracks and sills
- Vacuumed of bulk debris using a crevice tool — this is where most of the volume comes out.
- Loosened with a damp microfiber, then wiped clean.
- Weep holes (the small drains in the bottom track of vinyl windows) cleared so water can escape after rain.
- Interior sills wiped down.
Common issue: stink bugs and ladybugs
In the Lehigh Valley, fall window tracks fill with dead stink bugs and Asian ladybugs that crawl into the channels to overwinter. Vacuum-first is essential — a wet wipe alone smears them. Most homes that wait to call until December have several dozen per window.
