Hard Water Stain Removal
Glass dulled by sprinkler overspray, runoff from concrete, mortar haze, or shower mineral build-up. A different process from regular washing — a chemical restoration, not a clean.
Common sources in the Lehigh Valley
- Sprinkler heads pointed at first-floor windows for years on end.
- Runoff from concrete porches, sills, and stucco walls — water carries free lime onto the glass below.
- Shower glass mineral build-up — Lehigh County water is moderately hard.
- Construction overspray (mortar splatter, painter's drips) on newer-build homes.
- Patio doors next to a salt-treated walkway in winter.
Process
- A small test patch is run on the worst-affected pane to confirm the staining will lift.
- An acid-based mineral remover is applied, dwelled per manufacturer spec, and worked with a soft pad.
- Glass is rinsed with neutral water, then washed and squeegeed normally.
- Any glass that does not respond to a single pass is flagged for a return visit.
Pricing
Quoted separately from a regular cleaning. Per-pane rate varies by severity — light spotting is roughly $15–$25 per pane, heavy build-up can run $40–$75 per pane. The test patch is free; full restoration is only quoted after confirming the stains will actually clear.
